Make Time for Mana’s

A charming and colorful aspect of Maui island life is the presence of locally owned grocery and food specialty stores. Without a doubt, Mana Food Market in Paia is one of the most remarkable and colorful examples. From the landmark green & psychedelic storefront facing Baldwin Avenue, to the eclectic and varied products found inside, it’s easy to see why Mana’s has become a must-do experience, whether you’re just passing through or a full-time resident of Maui.

Mana’s is a health food store stocked with a wide variety of premium organic groceries, dairy products, teas, coffees, and oils. The fresh vegetables and fruit are fresh, colorful and locally produced–a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. There is a terrific and busy deli offering custom-made sandwiches, smoothies, various vegan entrees with an emphasis on tofu, a full soup and salad bar, plus a fresh bakery section with cakes, pies and wheat-free cookies to keep the sweet tooth happy.

The specialty rhubarb pie may seem unusual for Hawaii, but it’s a favorite among the locals–well deserved, with a unique rhubarb taste that is milder and less acid than most found on the mainland. A full-line of packaged, pre-cooked goods are also available for those not wanting to create a complete meal from scratch–you can heat-and-eat and do so healthily!

Don’t forget the cooking accessory and fresh spice departments, the snack-by-the-pound or the food supplement, vitamin and organic cosmetic/skin care section of the store. If it’s organic, it’s here. If it’s healthy, it’s here. If it’s tasty, it’s here. It’s Mana Food Market.

Keep it fresh. Keep it delicious. Keep it Maui.
