Good Riddance IL Gov

Haole Anna No Comments

Well, ole Rod Blagojevich has been known to IL employees as Gov. Son of a Bitch for a long time.

Blagojevich is one of the “old guard” machine pols from Chicago–married to daughter of politico–to whom he hasn’t spoken to in a long time in some political wrangle they got into–refused to live in Springfield Gov. mansion–set up offices in Chicago–meaning any business required flying back and forth, plus not there for state reps to communicate–etc, etc, etc.

And that’s the good stuff. Only gov with lower rating than the Prez! There have been efforts to impeach–seems this may be the clincher! Yay!

And it explains Obama’s offhand remark in a  Sunday interview about not injecting himself in the choosing of NY replacement for Hillary, stating he had “enough trouble” in Illinois. He may even have been instrumental in moving the investigation forward–don’t know. Do believe he isn’t going to have anything to do with this crap.

Also explains why there hasn’t been a replacement named–have believed all along he would NOT be naming Jackson, unless he had no other choice. Don’t know who does the choosing now–Lt. Gov?

Very few in IL will grieve over losing Blagojevich, believe me!

December 9th, 1896: What a difference 112 years make! The Mauna Loa arrives in Honolulu Harbor after an eight-day voyage from San Francisco. The Mauna Loa is a steamer, the first of its kind that will become the inter-island ferry for Hawaii. Its first route is Honolulu to Kahului, which it begins in less than a week.

Upon its evening arrival, the Mauna Loa turns on its electric searchlights. This attracts and startles the fish in the harbor and the huge crowd, which has formed at the wharf to greet the ferry, delights and applauds the jumping fish and arriving ferry.

I don’t see any cheers at the Superferry Harbor these days….

December 9,2009: The governor of the state of Illinois is arrested for trying to sell the senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

It’s things like this that make fabricating believable stories harder for a writer….
